People's finances are not getting any better. More and more people are being let go at the same time of not getting any unemployment benefits. Not only are people losing their jobs and only income source, but they are also being asked to stay inside and social distance from one another. All of these things combined add up to one horrifying experience. When it comes to stimulus checks, the Senate says they are coming. When we talk about then additional $200 or larger unemployment boost from the Federal Government, they say they are working on them. When people ask what about social security and the eviction ban extension, they are told that it will be dealt with very soon. The problem is that Congress is not dealing with all of these issues in a timely manner. People are loosing their homes, cars, jobs, and most importantly, their health. All of this is due to a pandemic that nobody knows when it will be over. I mention all of this because since the stimulus bill released on Monday, we have only gone backwards in the negotiation process. Not only that, but the HEALS Act loos like it is missing just as much as it is incorporating into the bill. For instance, hazard pay stimulus is nowhere to be found. What about funding for state and local governments, again, nowhere to be found. Are you looking to see if social security will get a slight boost to help you cover the rising costs of food? Well, no additional social security benefits are yet to be found. Many people were expecting this stimulus package to be filled with items that will help the American people, but it looks like Congress is again trying to help themselves in the meantime. Case in point, the lack of stimulus payments. We are just now hoping and praying for a 2nd stimulus check when other countries have been giving them out since this pandemic began.
